Ghost train

I commute by train to work every morning. Normally in Lowell the siderails are filled with boxcars. This morning they had left, but not without leaving evidence.

Hi Ben, You are missing some important information. I assume that your pic was taken in the morning (that is what you say), and since the MBTA train on the right side of the pic is on the right side of the platform, it is heading north. So is the engine pushing? Is the engine always on the south end of the train?
This photograph is taken facing South, with a northbound MBTA train. Rather, I was taking the train Northbound, but this is Lowell, which is the last stop on the line, so I guess it is now technically a Southbound (Boston-bound) train. The engine is on the north end of the train, so it is pulling Lowell-bound and pushing Boston-bound. As for the side of the platform, the MBTA is not consistent at Lowell.

HI there,

I was trying to show my kid pics of trains, because he loves trains and he is only 4 and a half, anyways, your pic came up. I don’t care what anyone says about what direction and technical stuff, I think that your pic is beautiful with that “ghostly” evidence that the train is gone, with snow all around the evidence. COOL PIC.
